Two Indiana congressional candidates in tough races, Joe Donnelly in the Indiana 2nd and Baron Hill in the Indiana 9th, took time out to record special get-out-the-vote messages. Please click the images below to watch. Also, please send around the link to this diary to anyone you know in Indiana.

You just had to be there. Watching him. Listening to him. Feeling him.
You see, Baron Hill, candidate for US Congress in the Indiana 9th District, was laying it all on the line.

Polls show that Hoosiers aren't very happy with the President and his Republican allies in Indiana. All indicators suggest that momentum is with the Democrats in Indiana, and given that Election Day voting in Indiana is among the earliest to close, many political pundits will be looking first to Indiana to find out just how big the national Democratic wave will be.
If you drive, you're probably already aware: across the country, we pay over $3 for a gallon of gas - 78 cents more than we paid last year!
And as gas prices rise and oil companies rake in record multi-billion dollar profits, Congress continues to drag its feet.
With high gas prices, high energy bills, and a heat wave that has gripped much of the country, we want to know - how has the energy crisis affected your life?

The College Democrats of America just elected Lauren Wolfe as the first female President of CDA in six years and Awais Khaleel as Vice-President at the 2006 College Democrats Convention in St. Louis, MO at St. Louis University.

Over the weekend over 60 grassroots activists attended the Camp Bayh campaign training in South Bend, IN. Camp Bayh featured three tracks: party leaders, future campaign professionals, and future candidates.
Many of the graduates of last weekend's Camp Bayh will go on to the Camp Bayh Immersion Program in August, which will then place 50 graduates with paid positions on campaign staffs around the country, with funding coming from the All America PAC donor base.
Several of the participants of Camp Bayh-South Bend wrote about their experiences at Camp Bayh on the All America PAC Blog:
Evan Bayh's latest trip to Iowa this weekend is getting a lot of coverage by blogs and newspapers in Iowa and around the country.
Chris Woods' PoliticalForecast.net has a very positive write up of Evan Bayh's speech at the Joint Truman Fund event:
He commanded the audience quite well and spoke well in a short period of time. In honor of the Truman Fund, he spoke with the guidance and words of Harry Truman about where America is headed and what Democrats can do to lead America to a better future. And since it was a fundraiser, All America PAC provided both the Senate Caucus and the House Caucus $5,000 for their election efforts in November. He also pledged to provide paid field workers who will be trained at the next Camp Bayh event.
O. Kay Henderson's blog at RadioIowa.com also has a good write up of Bayh's trip thus far in a post that focuses on Bayh's thoughts on national security:
Bayh says the Bush Administration has "tragically mishandled" Iraq and has lost focus on other "hot spots" like North Korea and Iran. Bayh made his comments today (Friday) during and after taping of an Iowa Public Television program that will air on Friday, June 14th and again the following Sunday.
The Associated Press commented on Bayh's attention to retail politics:
Bayh's close attention to retail politics has earned him high marks as Iowa Democrats head into a competitive election with an open governor's race, toss-up House races and a legislature that's virtually tied. Bayh planned to attend eight events raising money for local candidates."He is making inroads here," said former Iowa Democratic Chairman Gordon Fischer. "He is doing what it takes to be successful in the Iowa caucuses, and that is a lot of retail politics."
Tom Courtney, a state senator from Burlington, Iowa, was getting some help from Bayh.
"When I'm around town, I'm starting to hear Bayh's name mentioned," Courtney said. "Democrats are looking for somebody who is new and fresh."
WASHINGTON -- At a cocktail party for U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh in February, one man stood out among the wealthy Californians gathered in a multimillion-dollar house in the hills above Brentwood, Calif. -- Bill Earl.
Earl, 55, is a part-time high school instructor who, in his own words, usually looks and acts like a Southern California beach bum. He is not a big-time donor.
He is, however, valuable to Bayh in another sense: He's a blogger who has been writing on the Web about Bayh since Democrats lost the 2004 election. Now he had a chance to finally meet the man he holds in such high esteem.
"I'll never forget his strong, steel-eyed look in his eyes. Nothing weak there," Earl gushed in one of three online columns he posted about the evening. "I saw the look of a president."
